About Me

Hello my name is Lex (they / them) I am a queer Filipinx-American uprooted from NJ 10 years ago. For work, I am a private chef for a friend out in Somerville and on the side, I vend at local markets out in the Boston area. I have a small eco-inspired candle business called Algae and resell clothes / furniture. I consider myself a very balanced person, equal parts extroverted and introverted. When I’m not working, I like to spend my time recharging outside in nature, going out with friends, dancing / hitting up raves, cooking, thrifting, and exploring new / old places. On the weekends, I will probably be out chilling at a park, with friends out doing karaoke or raving while I spend my Sundays, recharging and resetting for the week. For hobbies which are subject to change, I have been making candles influenced by my personal relationship to the earth (I am hopelessly romantic), learning to make clothes, making resin jewelry out in my studio in Cambridge, curating playlists, cooking (I always share) and occasionally hosting friends / having interestingly themed parties. I am both a conscious and tidy person so I do my best to respect the space by leaving minimal footprint. Another reason I make a great roommate aside from being clean, is I am very community-oriented. I value straightforward, open communication and take respecting boundaries very seriously and expect full reciprocation. A few other things about me I am a great problem-solver, handle conflict very well, self-aware and do my best to make people comfortable within reason and capacity. I am an interior design hobbyist and pride myself in having a great eye so the apartment will absolutely have style if you choose to live with me.
