Community is at the Heart of SplitSpot

At SplitSpot, we are all about building community – and community for everyone, regardless of their gender identity, or the gender of who they choose to be with.

As a co-founder of SplitSpot, and as a member of the LGBT community myself, I want to personally say that SplitSpot is and will always be a welcoming space that celebrates differences and diversity. Happy Pride!

SplitSpot values inclusivity and acceptance at its core. We are a company built on roommates and people from different walks of life coming together to live in the same space. There isn’t any room — morally or practically — for bigotry or hate in our communities. We take pride in the fact that our residents are diverse, kind, and welcoming to new people: in our roommate matching process, new roommates are approved at an almost 100% rate!

Pride month is an opportunity for us to highlight not only the substantial number of LGBTQ+ residents that call a SplitSpot unit home, but the greater vision of inclusivity and togetherness that we intend to create in each of the apartments we have. These values are a cornerstone of city life, and as our cities become more dense, more colorful, and more diverse, these values become all the more important, and we at SpitSpot are proud to be a part of that.

How we are celebrating pride

Moreover, we’re committing to make an annual donation to BAGLY: The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, which is a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization committed to social justice that creates, sustains, and advocates for policies and programs to benefit the LGBTQ+ youth community.
